Our Pledge To You and Your Children
At Kid Power Gym, we promise to provide you an outstanding staff who will share their expertise with our students and equipment and classes that are second to none. Our staff members have sports, gymnastics and teaching backgrounds and are friendly and accommodating to all.

Although we do not offer competitive programs, we understand that students of recreational gymnastics are interested in accomplishment and challenge. So our classes include structured activity to insure learning and safety.

All classes are divided by age, gender and level whenever possible. Learning is based on your child’s individual potential and our low teacher to student ratio promotes safety and rapid learning of skills.

Why is gymnastics such a great sport for children? It’s because gymnastics is a total body usage sport. Children build and develop upper and lower body muscle groups, increase flexibility, strength, balance, control and coordination. Through gymnastics training a student builds confidence, self-esteem and finds courage within them to push to new heights. Gymnastics is a terrific way to increase chances for acceptance for junior and senior high school activity teams such as sports and cheerleading.

Kid Power Gym is a USGF Safety Certified Facility. We welcome suggestions and new ideas to improve our service. Please feel free to contact us while class is not in session. Conferences with a coach can be scheduled if needed.

HOW IT WORKS:
Gymnastics classes run in rotatios with many stations of apparatus working at one time. This enables us to have different ages and levels scheduled simultaneously. We try to make it as convenient as possible for your chldren to have the same time slot. Mom and Tot programs and Cheer-nastics require specific time slots. Please ask about their availability.

School age curriculum (Students are grouped according to skill level)
Beginners:
The beginner level is essentially an accelerated review of Super Kids One and Two. The children get to experience rapid success, fun, friendship and fitness!

Advanced Beginners:
This level is where the foundational skills, movements and positions are mastered. Mastery means correct technique and consistency in performance. Mastery allows athletes to enjoy greater success and safety at the next level.

Intermediate and Advanced:
Each level of the curriculum is carefully designed to do the following:

  • Provide early, frequent success and enjoyment yet present continued challenges.
  • Experience the joy of working towards goals and achievements.
  • As the students progress, they are learning the prerequisites for the next level.
  • Strength and flexibility requirements are increased at each level.
  • Emphasis is on mastery of the skills not just achievement.
  • Skills are linked together to create more complex skills and combinations.

The physical and psychological requirements for success in gymnastics are extremely high. Students learn to work towards achievement of goals that may be weeks or months away. Learning to delay gratification will directly lead to success in other future endeavors.

At all levels we teach: manners, responsibility, trustworthiness, caring, fairness, and mutual respect.  These characteristics help the students to grow into wonderful citizens! Our staff models these attributes as they encourage the students to do the same.

Cheer-nastics & Power Tumbling These classes are designed around specific skills and stunts needed to enhance cheer, drill teams or entertainment teams. Students will concentrate on jumps, flips, stunting, movement theory and choreography.

Entertainment Teams Senior, Junior & Petite Teams perform at local events, benefits, malls, parades etc. They showcase tumbling, acrobatic-dance and cheerleading routines.
(We do not teach specific dance classes, only theory and transitional movements for routines.)
